My name is Zuzana. Since childhood I have always been enchanted by and deeply interested in nature and animals. My interest in the natural world led me to study Zoology at Liverpool University and eventually to become a qualified teacher in the subject. I expressed my love of all animals by keeping all kinds of small pets at home when I was a child and visiting the zoo at least once a week. I always admired the striking beauty and elegance and uniqueness of Siamese cats but never really thought of ever owning one myself as they where rare and difficult to purchase. So I contented myself with keeping a black cat and a dog before I had a family. After my children grew older we all felt the need to have a pet animal in our home again. By this time I knew it had to be my long dreamed about and desired Siamese cat.
I found one breeder locally and went to view the litter all excited. They were not what I had imagined a Siamese cat should look like, as I had seen them when I was a child. These cats were pointed and thin and had large ears, and, for me, just didn't look pretty. Nevertheless I wanted a Siamese so I bought one. While my kitten turned out to be a nice affectionate animal and I became used to her modern looks I kept dwelling on the image that I had in my mind of what a traditional Siamese cat should look like. This fascination and my knowledge of biology led me into keeping and breeding Siamese cats. From then on I was not only hooked on Siamese cats but I became determined to breed then to look like they used to when I was a child.
This I have now been doing for the past 15 years, improving the look, stamina and character of them with each generation. Keeping and breeding my cats is essentially my hobby where I can put into practice my knowledge of biology and my love and affection for the animals to a purposeful end, that is to save the breed of traditional Siamese.
